Maggie Cross is an Australian Artist who lives on the east coast of N.S.W. at the beautiful beachside town of Ballina.

Her latest exhibitions have been a successful solo exhibition of her paintings and drawings at Martin Galleries, Brisbane (2011) and at Ballina Community Gallery (2012) she exhibited a series of charcoal drawings depicting the local environment along with her daughter, Katie.

She recently became a finalist in the Northern Rivers Portrait Prize at Lismore Regional Art Gallery.

Maggie has tutored local art groups as well as being guest artist for workshops in Brisbane. She is also available for individual tutoring.

Maggie gained her Painting Diploma at East Sydney Technical College and went on to become a Visual Arts teacher in secondary school for 27 years.

Her works on canvas, in both oils and acrylics vary in size and subject matter. She uses varying styles to portray the Australian landscape and seascapes. Other subject matters include still lifes, flowers, Australian animals and portraits.

Works on paper include pen and ink/ coloured wash and watercolour. Many sketches are a result of overseas travel.

Other works include tromp l’oeil and painting on trays.

Maggie has done a number of commissions and her work is represented in Australia and overseas.
